We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were friendly and very helpful and informative. We got a very good rate by going in January, I feel it is probably the best time to visit the city with less crowds and lower costs. The room was small, but I would say, rather, it was quaint. It's small but you're in Rome so you shouldn't be in your room anyway! It isn't perfect. The shower door was a little awkward, and the room safe didn't work. (But they offered for us to keep our passports in the safe at the front desk.) But again, it's not a 5 star hotel, but still better than we expected for the great price we got. The open window was awesome. I loved having the option to have it wide open for fresh air. The view was great from our 5th floor room of the block. One of my favorite parts of the room.
The breakfast was sufficient for the money we spent on the room and really, we were in Rome, so it was great to eat a quick breakfast at the hotel and go on and find some food while exploring. My suggestion would be to include maybe packets of oatmeal that can be added to hot water, in addition to the cereal and croissants. The woman working the breakfast was lovely. She was very friendly and helpful. Downside: the orange juice was kept in a cabinet instead of a refrigerator, which was not good. I would suggest either storing it in the refrigerator or just making fresh orange juice in the morning.
The location was brilliant. It was walking distance to everything. We took the train only once to the Vatican City, but it was such a nice day we walked all the way back, taking in the city all the way back. Really great location! The staff was the true highlight of the hotel. I would recommend it to a friend and would consider staying there again if I returned in the future. Thanks for a great stay!

I was disappointed that the information I saw on the website was not an accurate representation of the hotel and services, primarily that breakfast was not included in the price. I was also disappointed to find out that for two more euro per night I could have stayed in the "New Morpheus" instead of "Morpheus Rooms" and have had a renovated room instead of the old room I had, in which there was no proper ceiling in the bathroom, etc.

Morpheus Rooms is not bad for the price. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the hotel is clean. The property is a bit old, but that provides it with a bit of charm. For our first night there was no hot water. The breakfast offers a smaller selection than what we found at other Italian hotels, but it will get one through the morning.
Morpheus Rooms was in a fantastic location, we couldn't have picked better if we tried. Located just off the busy shopping street of Via Nationale, it's within walking distance of all the main attractions and is only a few streets away from the No.1 stop of the Ciao Italy double decker bus tour.
When we arrived at the main door, I thought we were at the wrong street. Morphues Rooms occupies the 4th and 5th floors of a huge building and there are other hotels on the other floors. I'd never come across this before, but it didn't add or take away from my trip.
The rooms were not like the ones pictured on the web site, they were a bit more plain and basic but we still enjoyed our time there. They were very clean and we had no complaints whatsoever. There is so much to see and do in Rome, we didn't spend that much time in our room. Breakfast was pastries, yoghurt, bread, juice and coffee. Only one selection of cereal, but there was plenty to eat. I would definitely stay here again.
Morpheus rooms was a fine stay at good value. They did mess up our order and gave us a double bed instead of 2 single beds, but other than that it was fine. The breakfast room is small, so you queue for a bit, but it's a good filling breakfast. I would recommend this place for the budget traveller.
