Highly recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and so helpful (they even speak english for anyone who struggles with Italian. It really does feel as though you are staying in a family hotel. One lovely surprise was that from our room we overlooked part of the forum!
As a business 5* traveller, I wouldn't say this was a modern 3* experience, but as a welcoming, friendly place to rest that is literally a stones throw from the forum and Piazza Venezia. Highly recommended as weekend budget break. :)

This is an excellent small hotel with a friendly quaint atmosphere. It has a great location just behind the Roman forums, and good access to transportation to other major sites, taking walks on back streets, etc. The breakfast is modest but good; they are very accommodating about making very strong cappuccino, which we like. The breakfast was conducted with a memorably funny friendly atmosphere that sometimes had guests from different countries laughing together. The staff was gracious and friendly, and offered good advice. My wife and I are professional people from the US who went to Italy for a holiday over Thanksgiving week. If we go too Rome again, which we might because we had a wonderful time, we will make every effort to stay again at the Nerva Hotel.
