I was very happy with the hotel & staff (seem to cater to English speaking clientel) - IF you are looking to stay in the "old" centre of the city, this hotel is a bit away, but the Metro station is truly on the other side of the street and taxis are reasonable and very friendly (I used both taxi and metro and prefer taxis). The only draw back was that there are only 2 restaurants within (easy) walking distance and neither one would I recommend; excellent Pizzeria opposite hotel (next to metro).
Great hotel, excellent breakfast buffet, good value for your money !

The hotel staff were friendly and professional. We had several questions regarding what to do during our stay and each time they came up with useful information that made our stay more enjoyable. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and have already recommended it to friends

The staff were extremely helpful... recommending restaurants and how to get to the places we wanted to go to. The breakfast was fantastic. The room was very comfortable. The colloseum was a 12 minute walk; the subway stop opposite the hotel. We would definitely stay there again when we go back to Rome.

This hotel being next to the Manzoni Metro station makes travel to most of the tourist sights easy to reach. The Colossium and Forum are 15 miniutes walk from the hotel. It is especially easy arriving at the Termini station then hoping on the metro and traveling to the second station to get to the hotel. I have stayed at this hotel twice and would do so again.

Great hotel. Much closer to the centre than we expected. Very quick access to Chiampino airport. Limited number of secure parking spaces available at €20 per night - not bad for a central location.

I stayed at this hotel two years ago, a couple of months after it opened up, and was pleased upon my return this summer to find the Manzoni metro stop right across the street had opened after renovations, which makes the Hotel Milton much more convenient for sightseers who wish to zip over to the Vatican Museums (Ottaviano Stop) or the Spanish Steps (Spagna). (If you arrive at Stazione Termini, don't have much luggage and can handle a short flight of steps, you can save yourself 9 euros by taking the 1 euro Metro two stops instead of spending 10 euros on a very short cab ride.) I stayed twice (in two different single rooms) in two weeks and had excellent experiences both times--if you book a single, be sure to ask for a bathtub (if you want one) as some of the singles have showers only. (After a day pounding the pavement in Rome, this sightseer needs a long soak in a hot tub to recover!)
The rooms are on the small side (remember, the building is a renovated convent!) but well appointed with nice furnishings. While I had to leave too early to eat breakfast on my second stay, the breakfasts during my first stay were ample and wonderful--the only improvement I can think of would have been "real" cappucino from a professional espresso machine instead of self-made cappucino from a self-service machine. But if you are that picky about coffee (and personally, I'm so particular), there's a nice little bar right across the street where you can have your morning coffee made by a Roman barista.
The bar at the hotel now serves a light dinner menu, with quick (and tasty) dishes like spaghetti carbonara, which is quite convenient if you are trying to get to a concert and don't want to spend 2 hours eating dinner at a trattoria before or after. (And, if you are staying here in the summer, you should definitely check out the free concert series at San Giovanni Laterano--they are held in the courtyard of the gorgeous Lateran palace under the stars at 9 p.m. on some summer weekend evenings--I did and had a wonderful night out at no cost!)
The excellent air conditioning system at the Hotel Mildon is a blessing in the hot Roman summers, and the hotel is only a 15 minute stroll from the Colosseum and 5 minutes from San Giovanni Laterano, and about 10 from Santa Maria Maggiore. (If you are feeling lazy, you can also take the Metro to the Colosseum, but you need go back to Termini and switch to the other Metro line in that case.) Obviously, if you want to be a hop, skip, and a jump from Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, the Hotel Milton isn't the right place for you, but if you are only staying in Rome for a few days and need a hotel convenient to Termini but don't want to stay in the seedy neighborhood right next to the station, this hotel's a wonderful pick--easily reachable by public transport, as long as you don't have too much luggage to deal with!

The only downside was the design of the bathrooms which were very small with barely room to move about in there. Also the shower design meant that the water flooded out all over the bathroom floor which was annoying. However, the location of the hotel is excellent as it is right opposite the Metro and only a 10 minute walk to the Colosseum. Excellent hotel for it's price range

The Hotel was in a great location just opposite the metro station. Two stops from Termini which runs an express train form the airport. The access was quick and good from the airport.
Also, it was easy to get to all the attractions. Walkng distance from the colluseum. The staff were fantastic (especially Rossana), great breakfast, clean modern room. Ask for a courtyard room away from the road you can't hear a thing.

The hotel was a bit bland, but comfortable, and very conveniently located.

I would highly recommend this hotel the staff were friendly and could not do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The room was relatively small compared to those found in other cities, still it was large compared to most hotel rooms in Rome. Although the closest metro station is just a 20 meters walk from the hotel, the metro itself stops at 10 pm. You can still use the bus. In the worst case, walking from Spagna, Fontana di Trevi and Via Veneto to the hotel takes only 30 minutes. Noise was not a problem although our room was looking to the main street.
Definitely, a very nice hotel. Worths the price.

Probably the worst aspect of the Hotel was its very close proximaty to the local tram service. This could be heard clearly from our room and seemed to run all night leading to brocken sleep. The hotel would truly benifit from double glazed windows to the front aspect to reduce the noise. But overal a lovely hotel, quality staff who were more than helpful.

Not crowded like Termini, very good and quiet place.
Very easy to take the Metro A Line, 1 minute to the entry. and easy to visit the city by bus. 3 bus stops to Collosseum.
A good hotel to be choose.

This is not a 4star hotel. The facilities were not 4 star the breakfast was not 4 star and nor was the service. I would not stay here again.

Good affordable and friendly, just a short walk to the colloseum and an even shorter stop to the excellent metro link

Clean and comfortable room and polite, friendly staff. Out of the six hotels in Italy that we stayed at during our trip, Milton Roma had the best breakfast with hot and cold dishes and a huge selection of rolls and pastries. The location of the hotel is a winner also. The Colosseum is within walking distance, about 20 minutes, and the Metro stop is right outside the hotel. The train and bus stations are only two stops away, with escalators so that carrying luggage is not a problem. The hotel has a parking lot at the side accessible through a remote-controlled gate. There is an extra charge for this, but we didn't use it, so I can't say how much. As tourists on a budget the Milton Roma was great value and we would definitely recommend it.
